Teamsters Promote Education: Scholarships

Every year, Local 315 and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters award financial aid to sons and daughters of Teamster members to assist in promoting our members’ families and helping them grow. We want to thank all applicants and congratulate our 2017 scholarship recipients for your hard work.

We are proud to award Local 315’s annual $1,000 scholarships to: Adriana Jimenez, daughter of Gabriel Jimenez from Recology, Jesse Ray Milliken, son of Larry Milliken Jr. from Veolia Water, Jacob Guorgui, son of George Guorgui from Vallejo Sanitation, Spencer Hall, son of Randy Hall from UPS, and Sophia Ramirez, daughter of Miguel Ramirez from Republic Services. Congratulations to Abraham Dabbas, son of Yassmeen Eseed from Savemart, on being awarded Joint Council 7’s Harry Polland/Robert Morales $1,000 Scholarship. We would also like to recognize Guadalupe Lopez, daughter of Juan Perez from Mt. Diablo Recycling Center, for being awarded the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship for $10,000.

In addition to these scholarship opportunities above, you may also apply for the California Teamsters Hispanic Caucus scholarship award.  With the variety of scholarships offered, we strongly encourage sons, daughters, and other dependents qualified to persist in working towards their greatest endeavors. If you have a dependent who is interested in applying, please see our “Scholarships” Page under “Member Resources” for details. Application information for 2018 Scholarships will be posted in Spring 2018.
