Joyful sounds of celebration rang throughout the Teamster Union Hall in Vallejo on Sunday, February 27 when the 78 members at Transdev Napa voted to ratify a five-year agreement, reports Business Agent Dustin Baumbach.
Although this location has been under Teamster contract for decades, there were several “firsts” in this contract, Baumbach reports. “It was the first long and secure five-year agreement, and the first time these fixed-route drivers, paratransit drivers, and maintenance mechanics saw wage increases anywhere near these percentages.”
The first that sent the membership over the top with excitement though, is the first time adding the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension to their contract. “After decades of proposals to add the pension, only to be shot down, now these members can hold their heads high knowing that they have voted to improve the futures for themselves as well as for those who come behind them,” Baumbach adds. “Congratulations to the Local 315 Teamsters members at Transdev Napa!”
